Right when I was resigned to try and kill and pluck it myself, the mother of a local friend did it for me.<\/p>\n

Because the relative of my travel partner where we were staying thought that’s what we would want. We graciously ate it.<\/p>\n

Mozambique<\/td>\nThe country was recovering from years of civil war and resources were limited.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Country where a stranger let us sleep in his car because he didn’t think it was safe for us to camp outside.<\/p>\n

South Africa<\/td>\nAnd the hotel staff let him move his car into the courtyard so they could keep an eye on us.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Country where all I ate one day was a whole pineapple.<\/td>\nUganda<\/td>\n <\/p>\n

I was running low on money and didn’t want to waste any pineapple. I might have had some crackers too.<\/p>\n

Country where my friend and I got separated in a crowd and did not reconnect until 18 hours later.<\/p>\n

Before smartphones or mainstream internet. We failed to make a backup plan on where to meet if we got separated.<\/p>\n

France<\/td>\nIt was in a chalet in Nantes with unlimited wine and amazing countryside views.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Country where I missed the last tram at the top of a mountain and had to walk two hours down the mountain in the dark.<\/p>\n

Chile<\/td>\nBut the roads were paved, there were a few other people, and cell phone reception was good.<\/p>\n

Country where I fainted in line at the bank.<\/td>\nLesotho<\/td>\nPeople around took care of me. But I still had to wait in line.<\/p>\n
